Nick Breen

Nick Breen is a Tisch Drama ‘24 graduate with training at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and the International Theatre Workshop Amsterdam. He is incredibly grateful to be a part of the journey of this play and a team he is endlessly inspired by. Past NYU credits include As You Like It (Stella Adler) and Antigone (Or And Still She Must Rise Up) (Stella Adler).

ELLIOT

Laurie Hernandez

Laurie Hernandez is a full time student at NYU Tisch as a Drama major, with a minor in Creative Writing. She brought home the Gold and Silver medals at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games for gymnastics, but would prefer to tell you about the one time she played Shakespeare’s “Lady M” in sophomore year of college. Nothing spectacular happened, she just had a great time.

She is now a full time actress for film and theater, with VO/animation holding a special place in her heart. In her free time, she is a DM for a D&D campaign, and definitely does not write fanfiction shipping characters that are not canonically together.

VICTORIA

Avery Fischbach

Avery Fischbach is a 4th year Tisch Drama Student, and the world’s first actor. He completed his primary training at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, and returned in August from a summer at the International Theatre Wing: Amsterdam. He last played Tiresias in Tisch Drama Stage’s production of The Bacchae.  When he’s not acting or writing his own work, Avery can probably be found mountain biking, surfing, gaming (in moderation), or working towards fluency in French!

PETER

sam selesnick

Sam Selesnick is a recent graduate of NYU Tisch School Of The Arts with a degree in Film & Television production, yet he has been involved in theater all his life. He’s been a member of productions such as Playwrights Horizons “Twin Play” , Gallatin Theater Troupe “ The Caucasian Chalk Circle”, and Arc Stages’s production of “A Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night Time”. He recently completed his thesis film, “A Reunion” which will be released to the world….soon. When not performing, Sam can be found herding sheep in Northern Ireland or brewing chaang.

INTIMACY COORDINATOR

We all have those friends who we feel can understand everything about us without even having to say it. But what if we had to admit everything we wished could remain unspoken?

HEAT is a play that finds three young men at the precipice of great change. In their fresh adulthood, each has been forced to face an unthinkable challenge, and they are challenged to look inward, protect each other and to do the impossible: ask for help. But amidst great loss and harrowing secrets is when they find those who truly know and love them– no matter what.

Our cast and creative team, hailing from NYU Tisch, are thrilled to present a story that sheds light on the possibility and power of emotional vulnerability within male friendships.

HEAT is supported by IRT Theater’s 3B Playwriting Residency and produced by 35k, a company creating theater & film work that demands social change through heartfelt narratives.
